Hotel Eur

It is hard to believe that this is only a 3-star hotel. Located only minutes from the Mediterranean sea, this hotel offers amenities found in 4-star hotels. The rooms are clean, spacious, and very comfortable for the price. It is kid friendly with a large pool and play area for families. The food in the restaurant is excellent, and the staff is unfailingly friendly and courteous. It has been one of the best hotels we have stayed in, and can only recommend it highly to anyone traveling in this part of Italy!

This is an interesting building, from the old fascist days of Mussolini. Worth experiencing that alone. An old dormitory perhaps I am not sure. It’s clean and safe with plenty of free parking and only 15 min walk to the Metro. Checkin was not quick. They insisted on capturing every detail if four passports including two children… a bit much if you ask me. And slow with very weird music playing in the lobby that made checkin unnecessarily stressful. (Just offer a glass of water or something while we wait?!) The rooms are fine and clean, but low budget, in keeping with the price. The AC functions but not great. The shower doors are clunky and difficult to open and close without leaking and they make a lot of noise! I would have given three stars, except for the bed, see pictures. The bed is basically a cot. A queen sized cot, with springs and no support. Only firm parts are on the edge of the frame, the rest is one big bowl… not great. If you’re just passing thru to get to the airport, this place is fine. You get what you pay for. Don’t pay for breakfast if you’re catching an early flight out, they may not be open in time.
